The former Brazil forward Rivaldo has placed an advertisement on Instagram as he searches for new investors for the club he is president of.
The 2002 World Cup winner became Mogi Mirim Esporte Club’s president in 2008 while he was still playing in Europe. Rivaldo played for the São Paulo-based club who play in the second tier of Brazilian football early on in his career before moving to Corinthians.
After spells at Barcelona and Milan, he played one game for Mogi Mirim earlier this year alongside his son Rivaldinho before announcing his retirement at the age of 41.
Now, with the club currently second in the Serie C standings, Rivaldo has launched his appeal for more funds using the social networking site.
“I , Rivaldo , currently President of Mogi Mirim Esporte Club, for reasons of particular order, decided to look for new investors for the club,” his message read.
“However, I will remain ahead of the administration until there is a healthy transition to all, especially to the Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube. Note that the Club is in the First Division Paulista Championship, in the Second Division of the Brazilian Championship and has its own heritage.
